Because the AKC Agility Nationals are in Reno, Nevada on March 30 through April 1, 2012, GACGLV was granted permission to change their agility trials to the weekend prior, March 23-24-25, 2012, and is co-hosting this with SSCSN. Agility trials are being held at Horseman’s Park Arena in Las Vegas NV. Therefore, the agility trials are not happening on the same weekend as the VVDOC-SSKC Conformation, Obedience, and Rally trials. These events will be held on the following weekend at Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City NV on March 30-31 and April 1.

Join us for a 3-day AKC agility trial weekend with the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Nevada on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Petrack Park — AREA C, 150 S Highway 160, Pahrump NV  89048-2176 Nevada. Gillian Crawford from Tacoma, Washington will be our judge. YES, Vegas Vouchers may be redeemed at this Trial with your mail-in entry.

A REQUEST FOR HELP:
Club members and local exhibitors are encouraged to assist with pre-trial setup starting on Friday, March 18 at 12:00 NOON PST and post-trial breakdown on Sunday afternoon, March 20.

SETUPS begin at approximately 3pm on Friday, March 18, after the rings have been staked, the setup area has been designated, and the equipment trailers have been unloaded. PLEASE be patient and give us the time to do this! Volunteers are welcome to help us with this process.

IMPORTANT SETUP DETAILS:

• Shade structures must be weighted ONLY! No staking is allowed.
• Canopy portion must be removed and structures lowered upon leaving setups at the end of the day.

UNLOADING ZONES are available for the convenience of exhibitors. Time limit for unloading/loading zone is 15 minutes. Vehicles left parked in the unloading zone past the 15 minute time limit, and also vehicles parked in “no parking” zones and in reserved parking without reservations, may be towed at owner’s expense.

AKC Chairman, Ron Menaker, announced the following today:

In Agility, I’m pleased to announce the creation of the Preferred Agility Championship title, or PACH, which will take effect July 1st. Originally scheduled for 2013, we’re happy to implement it almost 2 years ahead of schedule to recognize our Preferred Agility dogs. Dogs must achieve a minimum of 750 championship points and 20 double qualifying scores from the Excellent Standard and Jumpers with Weaves classes to obtain the championship.

The PACH title is also retroactive, so that any dog that met the requirements prior to July 1st, 2011 will have PACH prefix added to their AKC registered name in the registration database.

Effective January 1, 2010, exhibitors are no longer required to provide proof to Trial Secretaries that their dog has a valid jump height card as part of the check-in process. Furthermore, this change eliminates the need for a copy of the jump height card to be submitted with an entry form.

Effective April 1, 2010 optional mixed breed classes may be offered at standalone all-breed AKC agility trials.

When:  Saturday, November 14, 2009 following FAST
Cost:  $5 per run
Dogs:  First 50 dogs to sign up during the regular agility trial held on Saturday. Any breed or mixed-breed dogs that are 15 months of age or older, and AKC registered. Dogs do not have to be entered in the regular trial.
