Frequently Asked Questions
Please know that most of these questions and answers are related to the Clubs located in Southern Nevada and therefore could differ from answers for the same questions in different locations.
What are Vegas Vouchers and how do they work?
Vegas Vouchers are owned by LVDICE. The purpose of Vegas Vouchers is to get people involved and promote the agility trials we have here locally in Southern Nevada. For trials that are done in cooperation with LVDICE, clubs have the option to:
- Accept Vegas Vouchers toward agility trial exhibitor entry fees
- Issue Vegas Vouchers to volunteers at agility trials
How it works is that a club may accept Vegas Vouchers towards entry fees. After the closing date of the trial, the club will redeem the Vegas Vouchers to LVDICE. LVDICE will issue the club a check for the amount of the Vegas Vouchers. This is a win-win situation for the club and LVDICE. The club gets their money, and the people who have Vegas Vouchers can use them towards the clubs' agility trials.
How clubs get started to accept and/or issue Vegas Vouchers
- The club signs a contract with LVDICE to participate in the Vegas Vouchers program.
- The club will accept Vegas Vouchers towards entry fees.
- LVDICE prints and issues Vegas Vouchers to club to use for their workers which are good for 13 months.
- After the trial is over, the difference between issued Vegas Vouchers and accepted Vegas Vouchers is calculated.
- If more Vegas Vouchers were accepted than issued, LVDICE pays the club the difference.
- If more Vegas Vouchers were issued than accepted, the Club pays LVDICE the difference.
- Then 14 months after the trial, any Vegas Vouchers that were issued by the Club and are still outstanding (not redeemed back) will be paid back to the Club.
Benefits
LVDICE does not create income from doing Vegas Vouchers. In fact, the Treasurer (a volunteer position) manages the LVDICE Vegas Vouchers account and LVDICE pays for the cost of producing the Vegas Vouchers. The benefit is that Vegas Vouchers helps get volunteer people to work the trials and this in turn benefits the clubs. This also helps the clubs in getting people to enter our agility trials because they have Vegas Vouchers to be used toward their entry fees. Additionaly, our local trainers accept Vegas Vouchers as payment toward their classes. Once again, it is a win-win situation for everyone!
